1. Know the requirements of the species of fish being kept.
  2. Be sure the aquarium filter is adequate for the population size of the tank.
  3. Regularly maintain your equipment and filtration
  4. Test water weekly at time of starting a new tank.

  2. Do NOT overfeed or overcrowd.
  3. Test water before adding fish.
  4. Perform regular water changes.
  5. Be sure test kits have not expired.
  6. Store test kits in a cool, dry place away from children and pets.
